Threads is a buggy mess. It has been impossible to create an account on the platform in Europe for months because of a broken authentication system. Even if you do manage to create an account, you have a decent chance of a random and arbitrary ban.

Yes, you can buy it from commercial providers like Planet or even Airbus. They update a few times a day, though depending on the place you are interested in, you may need to put in a request for them to image it.

Its actually not that difficult. I used to fly a satellite that could photograph anywhere in the world at least once every few days.

But this covers only a tiny fraction of people who use those apps. Most people don't send anything via satellite when using messenger.
