Such as? There are alternatives to almost anything you can think of already. All popular sites and services have clones. What more do you want?

The issue I think you’ll run into is that they’re lacking users and kind of just worse versions. Usually because people who say things like this, don’t actually want to be personally inconvenienced to switch.

Muse 1.1 performed relatively well according to benchmarks, putting it within spitting distance of the premier models. However, based on the results I got from it and the review videos I watched, it wasn’t even close.

Opus 5 is incredible at making games. Almost like a generation better than other models from my experience. You won't see that if you just look at the popular benchmarks..

You have to test each model on your actual use case to see how well it really performs.

They are slaps on the wrists AND shake downs. The fines aren't to 'correct' bad behavior. Look at the EU delivery apps being found to participate in a cartel. They received a large fine but still allowed to keep what they gained and merged companies.

OpenAI's Zero Data Retention claim held up in court. They were unable to produce prompts and outputs because they were never retained.

I believe that is only available through Enterprise API for both Anthropic and OpenAI.

Yes. I've since watched a couple review videos on YouTube and all the game tests I've seen Opus 5 produce are incredible even compared to Fable.

It's definitely not benchmaxxing from my experience with it. I have a test I use on all the models to create a game and Opus 5 feels like a generational leap compared to the rest. Benchmarks don't paint an accurate picture, you have to try them for yourself.

I agree which is why I said you could make a similarly capable model.

You can also use a hex editor to modify compiled binaries, but no one would consider that "open source".

Random people? No. Governments and big corporations? Yes. It removes any concern of "backdoors", and is currently the best starting point for your own model which will be as capable as k3.

I'm not sure why you're so dismissive about this model. It isn't currently open, but it will be. It was slow when I used it so i'll give you that. There will be other providers with better performance.

My only gripe was that it takes a very long time to think. It's a good model otherwise.

I want to caution against this line of thinking. NSA's fast16 program silently altered data during nuclear simulations, and that is also possible within open weight models. There is no reason to think there is anything like that currently, it also cannot be dismissed. Open source would include the training data so you could create a similarly capable model.

You want to hate the US but don't want the personal inconvenience of moving away from the daily sites and apps you use. How are these alternatives to american tech going to get enough users if someone like yourself who seems to have a hate boner for the US can't even leave a message board?

The orange idiot can say whatever he wants. The first amendment makes any ban unconstitutional. US companies being advised about potential backdoors in the models isn't a bad thing, even if I personally think it's FUD, open weights is not open source.
