I've had an LG tv for a couple years. I was previously able to use LG's THINQ app on my phone like a remote to operate the tv. A couple days ago I went in the app to use the remote and the feature had been totally locked behind the "access local networks & devices" permission... This permission was never needed in the past 3 years yet now it's necessary for the same functionality.

So, I disconnected the TV from the internet, uninstalled the app, and bought an Apple TV 3rd gen. LG TV quality is great but their software is unbearable.

I love last.fm with all my being. I recently created a ListenBrainz (same org as MusicBrainz) account which is an open source alternative that you don’t have to host yourself. I’m scrobbling to both places now just in case.

Check out tapmusic.net too to make cool diagrams out of your scrobbled music.

Are apps run through WinBoat limited to 60hz like regular Windows VMs? I’ve gotten to used to higher refresh rates and 1 window being a lower rate drives me nuts!

I'm very curious as to how this works in the backend. I realize it uses Bluesky's firehose to get the posts, but I'm more curious on how it's checking whether a post contains any of the available words. Any guesses?

Question: What tools/libs are people using to accurately detect square/rectangle objects in images?

I've used VNDetectRectangle [1] in Swift but it's not as accurate as I'd like it to be, even with preprocessing.

$8-16 thousand does not seem that high of a price for this... Especially when compared to the prices other high end watches fetch.
