Be paid or don't work.

I am so deadly serious - do not continue working if your invoices are late.

You don't have to be a jerk about it, just explain to your primary contact that you need to be paid and you pick up tools again when the money has arrived.

BUT it is on YOU to properly negotiate reasonable payment terms. And if you don;t know or don't trust the client then require payment in advance until a stronger commercial relationship can be settled in. Do not be a baby - go research business contracts and payment terms.

Do not be afraid to lose business from companies that are squeamish about paying you - in fact actively avoid such companies.

Look, if you make an LLM and you don't want people using it in a particular way then communicate with them. And if you can detect what you think is such behavior, then communicate. Out in real life you don't threaten people with end of relationship with every issue that comes up.

It's such childish business to always pull out and threaten the ban hammer any time there's any possible issue with how they want their system used.

Windows 11 should run on ANY PC.

I am customer and I absolutely hate it that they have restricted the machine that Windows can run on.

If they don't fix this sort of anti customer garbage then all their words are pure horseshit.

Sorry I don't recall exactly but I don't think it was anything special like a hidden or binary file.

I still use it but Ive never trusted it fully since then I double check.

I was using ripgrep once and it had a bug that led me downa terrifying rabbit hole - I can't recall what it was but it involved not being able to find text that absolutely should have been there.

Eventually I was considering rebuilding the machine completely but for some reason after a very long time digging deep into the rabbit hole I tried plain old grep and there was the data exactly where it should have been.

So it's such a vague story but it was a while back - I don't remember the specifics but I sure recall the panic.

I once heard YouTube described as the "Jewel of the Internet".

And indeed it was - videos of every type lengths topic style is was just a true treasure chest.

Now the algorithm means everything is 12 minutes, shorts are everywhere, nothing is in depth and it's all samey and bland.
