highest taxable income per household. if you have a demographic of people who tend to live with their extended family their entire life. then they will always come out on top. once again people got tricked by comparing people of different cultures with a single stat. this is how the powerful trick people.

why not both? income and race. suddenly poor white men will become a protected class. for the uninitiated, this should make you realized that affirmative action only helps the wealthy members of each demographic. we also should add a citizenship criteria.
i do think a better way of measuring wealth is needed. maybe the amount of money you are deducting from your taxes. nobody who knows finance, aka the wealthy, has a large amount of taxable income.

they got rid of affirmative action in california. the asians were the only minorities to see growth in the number of acceptances to uc. however, it was no where near the rate of growth of their population demographic. most of the new spots went to foreign students. once again the faculty went back to being exclusively white male. also all state government jobs hiring practices were no longer scrutinized for discrimination. minority elected officials in california clearly have difficulties dealing with their own state government.
nobody bothered to check whether eliminating affirmative action actually helped.

mortgages going bad was just the spark that ignited the forest fire that was the collapse. qe was used to buy time for companies to liquidate their risky assets. but in the end lehman brothers took the fall and we all became poorer.
huge debt is once again a symptom to the main problem of people unwilling to let the market decide the winners and losers.

so obviously a scam to destroy public schools and handicap the working class children. if you want to fix this just force the wealthy kids to attend public schools. the reason why the wealthy actively are destroying public institutions is because they are not using it.

> “It would be a mistake for transit agencies and cities to rely on this kind of last-mile connection to the exclusion of making better walking and biking connections to transit hubs,” he said. “Those are also very low-cost ways to make it easier to connect to transit.”
so a lot of people are taking the minibus because there are no way to safely physically get to an actual bus stop. if towns were planned around public transportation this would not be a problem. we have planned towns around automobiles for too long. this creates an artificial need for cars.

this is related to the fallacy of the top 1%. the fact of the matter is only celebrities or people who had a financial windfall makes up most of the so-called 1%. the reality is that the wealthy do not populate the top 1%. they are more likely to be found at the bottom 25% of earners as they are doing all they can to lower their tax burdens which primarily centers around eliminating their taxable income.
a better label for your stats is that it takes 20 years for a family to figure out how to hide their wealth.

the electoral college system has become a scam to give the presidential election to the wealthy. they can, during the election year establish residency in the swing states and in affect have more of a say as to who becomes president. people here claiming that it gives the rural population more of a say, that's a lot of bs. with national popular vote the urban and rural states will have just as much of a say as each vote will count for one vote. none of this crap of increasing the representative count and taking advantage of the numbers being rounded in favor of one party vs the other.
now if a party wants to rig the election, they will have a much harder time.

and the reason they wealthy are flocking to the US? because they avoid having to pay for the social services programs to their employees which leads to huge profits. foreign workers comes to the US and because they know they can get all these social services once they've returned home, they can underbid their US counterpart. the expanding different between the haves and the have not is purely due to the world wealthy and foreign workers exploiting the lack of social services in the US.

this whole program requires that the h1b visa worker is at the level or above the level of their US counterpart. this creates a very disturbing incentive with regards to the US educational system. the decline of the us public educational system coincides with the advent of this whole program. plus I don't believe there's a limit on student visas which are being abused in the same way to fill academia with cheap foreign labor.
the other thing the program incentivize is over inflating unemployment numbers and other economic indicators. you can't justify the hiring of h1b or the expansion of the program if the unemployment numbers are high. of course the recent low unemployment numbers turned out to be a sham considering how the fed fund rates were lowered and inversion of the yield curve.

one common and huge mistake people make when talking about salary is that people assume these are typical pre-tax US based salaries. in reality the salaries that you see here and those that are posted all over the news are probably the pay given to a contracting firm. sometimes they provide the pay given to the contractors. nobody is making it clear what salary is being referred to. it's most likely the money being paid to a contracting firm. this means that you need divide the number by 1/2 to get the money paid to the contractor. then you need to factor out health insurance, pension, and other expenses related to being a contractor before you can even start comparing it to the salary of a US citizen.
These contractors typically comes from a country that have social programs that will provide them with a pension and medical coverage if they ever get sick or retire. so they can severely undercut their US counterpart who needs to earn more to cover up for the lack of public social programs in the US.

your response reads like a right wing conservative talking points. maybe technically correct but very misleading due to the lack of context.
> In Germany, 65% of tax revenue comes from social insurance and consumption taxes, which are paid for by the middle class.
that's wrong half of the social security contributions comes from the employer in germany. and is close to 50% greater than the contributions required in the US.
vat (what your talking points refers to as consumption tax) largely exempts everyday expenses that people need to pay in order to live. however, it does increase the cost of doing business greatly as all transactions are taxed.
look at just germany and the us from your documents.
US
24% for ss
0% for vat
total portion of tax revenue = 24%
Germany
37.6 for ss
18.5% for vat
total portion of tax revenue = 56.1%
my point is proven. it's cheaper to run a business in the US because there's a huge discount from not having to pay for public services. and companies are further reducing their cost by hiring foreigners who are willing to game the system by taking advantage of their own country's social policies and in exchange giving their US employers a discount on their salaries.
