You haven't touched on one single aspect of any of the actual ideas being discussed. All you've offered is ad hominem attacks on the purveyors of the ideas.

This book is great, so is Advanced Programming in the Unix Environment, which covers much of the same material but details the differences in standards and implementation. I'd also add `Linux Kernel Development` by Robert Love.

Check out the book "Economic Facts and Fallacies" by Thomas Sowell, it has about 30 pages of references, and he provides books and studies.
