Thank you for pointing that out.
I was banned two weeks ago without explanation and - in my opinion - without probable cause. Appeal was left without response. I refuse to join Discord.
I've checked bot support before but it was useless. Article you've linked mentions DSA chat for EU users. Invoking DSA in chat immediately escalated my issue to a human. Hopefully at least I'll get to know why Anthropic banned me.

Tools to do this are and have been available for many months.
The difficulty is in scale. Enabling every smartphone owner to use GenAI, especially using voice commands requires hardware resources several orders of magnitude greater than what OpenAI is currently burning through.
The LLM-powered Siri/Alexa/Google Assistant was a matter of infrastructure investment.
With the recent Apple's announcement, it's only a matter of time with Google and others following through.

This strategy may work for a (D)DoS that is targeted to an application layer, but won't work if the attack is designed to exhaust your bandwidth.
Once you're receiving more traffic than you network cards can handle, it does not matter if you'll drop the packets with iptables or not.
I was the target of attacks that caused Hetzner to terminate my contract. I was leasing physical servers there, so I assume the attacks were overwhelming their infrastructure.

It's neither an accident nor planned mechanism. It had nothing to do with network, the transmission wasn't switching to multicast.
Probably the author observed that reading different files from disk simultaneously was slower, until the copy process catches up to read the same files.

> This may be controversial but I think this has the potential to be a brilliant metric because it measures some part of web UX that’s often neglected.
It also seems to be a metric that is very easily gamed.
If all that matters is instant feedback, then just draw that loader as soon as user clicks add to cart, do not wait for the request to start. It does not matter that it will take X or Y seconds.

Having been using and administering a lot of PostgreSQL servers, I hope they don't lose any stability over this.
I've seen (and reported) bugs that caused panics/segfaults in specific psql processes. Not just connections, also processes related to wal writing or replication. The way it's built right now, a child process can be just forced to quit and it does not affect other processes. Hopefully switching into thread won't force whole PostgreSQL to panic and shut down.
