searching with street name and number offline would be nice. In google maps search only works when online

Sailfish OS looks nice. but i am not sure if their strategie for applications is the way to go. Applications need to be specifically built for Sailfish OS with their IDE which uses Qt.

That means you can't run just any linux software on it.

Some of the whitespace can be configured in the settings. I am not sure if the problems you mention can be adjusted there though.

The article lost me after reading the first paragraphs. It just seems too academic.

I have heard exasol is a very performant database but using closed software can be a risk, I would rather deploy open source software.

outlawing encryption for the population is bad. people have a right for privacy but i would be for making public all communication of politicians.

I hope it succeeds. Now they allow direct donations, so people who want it to succeed can help. I am sure these donations go directly into the development of the browser unlike with mozilla.

It seems you didn't read the initiative text. The initiative does not force game Devs to release the code or make specific technical demands.

Game Devs only have to make a plan for when the game gets shut down to still allow the users to be able to play the game. How that is archived can be decided by the developers. Of course the law could be different in the future.

But most people do agree that it is bad to intentionally break games that people payed money for. All they are basically are asking for, is that games are built in a way that they can be enjoyed as long as possible (maybe supported by the community). Is that not also in the intention of the game developers?

I was interested in that as well. What would be recommendations to break Google up? I am not sure that breaking up Google would work. All their systems are built to run on Google infrastructure. Outlawing tracking of the population (for ads and other things) I think would have a better effect.
