The category of of ILS does not dictate its autoland status. You can do an Autoland on nearly any ILS provided the FAC is aligned with the RWY.

A CAT IIIB ILS will permit in most states a landing with a radio altitude of 0.

Sounds like shit to me.

16hr long haul and everytime the other guy needs to piss you get woken up. Then you both have to fly the approach completely cooked from the shit rest. And thats without wx or diversions. Clearly not thought out.

The wire twisting pliers in the first picture are used for lock wire, not electrical wire and they are very good at that specific task. Used in industries such as aviation to prevent movement/rotation of a fastener or a part such as a screw on oil filter.

I think you are swapping one issue for another. A clearance that is a button push has far less meaning and protection than standard verbal phraseology. During the critical phase of flight, attention is needed on the aircraft performance and position using the working auditory memory we can minimise distracting messages and popups close to the ground.
