Has the characteristics to implement the digital Euro. Plus guarantees anonymity of buyers. And should be extremely cheap to operate. But is not under bank’s control.

Did they find evidence of weapons of mass destruction? No? It should be soon then.

Interested because this autumn will board a ferry for an overnight journey. Sometimes I did suffer seasickness and have read taking medication when onboard already is too late. So I am happy to know there may be a potential solution available. Just in case. Thanks.

Would it also work onboard a ship? Or movements are too slow to provide enough visual cues on a small screen.

Since NASA demonstrates it is possible to keep servicing software on a 50 years old hardware, traveling into space far far away, I want someone to buy software and original tooling rights for the Nokia 1100. Then prepare a firmware upgrade for the variant with WAP capabilities to replace them with a more modern, very optimized, stack and have it installed on the (millions of) remaining devices. Then deal with carriers convincing them to provide ad-hoc 2G CSD service. Finally setting up internet services for the puny device. One can always dream.

Minimalist vps, download the executable, copy and paste apache config, activate and you are good to go. With certain providers you don't even need to buy a domain.

Personal, small and medium sized projects are 99% of all projects.

You are a big name --> don't need GH for followers and contributors. You are a small potato --> GH gives way more followers than contributors.

CI/CD is not good on GH either.

At this point the problem is discovery. With a federated search engine the actual forge host would not be an issue anymore.

Can we have Scott Forstall back now.

I wonder if delegating LiFi to do downstream and very narrow bands of Wifi for upstream would solve congestion problems. As example if existing smartphones could receive LiFi signal with current front facing sensors.

New comment by wuming2 in "The GitHub website is slow on Safari"

wuming2 — Thu, 28 Aug 2025 03:55:56 +0000

It has to present text lists, tables and small icons. Makes mobile Safari crawl to a halt. With multi gigahertz, multi core cpus and hardware accelerated js. It is pathetic.

I came to realize spending few minutes every so many years to cast a vote in between the purchase of that great massage gun and groceries shopping, for party members who have been extensively vetted and not by you, doesn’t entitle to any control. Democracy is simply the most successful strategy to make believe into fairness and reduce costs of exercising power. With the capability to excise taxes and leverage them into debt that will always be repaid, one way or another, until the last citizen breathes government is, and always was, the greatest business of all times. Corporations who invest at every level, all the time, to make a buck do buy control. Mostly proportional to their investments into the wheels of government.

Small codebase. Must be on GitHub which kills my browser and is used to train Microsoft LLMs? As an Alt-something kind of service they could spend the additional (small) effort and switch to something more suited. Chisel as example is currently hosting development of the entire Arcan framework, IPC system and all UI implementations on top of it. I believe Chisel would be more than capable to properly serve Ygg dev ops as well.

I remember Notes subtly replicating the texture of paper. And text being drawn black, not some shades of gray, with effects to maximize, and not reduce, readability and fidelity. Then Scott Forstall was gone.

New comment by wuming2 in "Air Lab – A portable and open air quality measuring device"

wuming2 — Thu, 05 Jun 2025 09:36:20 +0000

I was referring to looking at a display to be timely informed about an event, crossing the threshold out of acceptable air quality, that can occur at any time of the day. If air quality is consistently bad you don’t need a measuring device but a good air filter. If instead it is not then relying on constantly looking at it is a poor solution.
