I'm working on a telemedicine system connecting patients with remote doctors in rural Africa.
https://www.virtualhospitalsafrica.org/
While medical records systems in much of the developed world are still shared via fax, we think there's an opportunity to leapfrog existing systems and have a cloud-based source of truth.

Thanks for the feedback. Agreed that the platform will get adopted based on what it helps people do.
The goal is to create a direct link between the people on websites and the people building them, website maintainers.
Where that ties in with the purpose is that if all this information about how websites are doing well by their users (or not) is in public view, maintainers have an incentive to answer directly to them.

A number of mechanisms will need to be in place to prevent that: a general flagging/reporting system, requiring a certain amount of karma before posts are automatically made public, a strong community that enforces guidelines on feedback being constructive all would help

I'm similarly skeptical they can be fixed with a chatbox. We're working toward a public platform where issues can be made visible on a broader scale. For those websites that would invite such feedback and be early adopters, we're creating a widget for them to do so. Eventually, people might come to expect this sort of public discourse.

Great points and thanks for the encouragement.
Certainly the internet would be a lot better if larger tech platforms were more responsive to the feedback of their users, but you're right that there are entrenched interests that might work against that. We do plan on opening the platform up so that the public can report issues directly to morehumaninternet.org even for websites who have not signed up. At that point, if many other websites are having success in engaging directly with the public and if there's enough demand for certain issues to be looked at, maybe those larger platforms will see that it's in their best interest to respond.
As for integration with Github issues, I definitely like the idea of having the platform feel like a universal way of feeding feedback to site owners, but of course those site owners may use any number of tools internally to track issues (Github issues, JIRA, Trello, etc.) so we'll want to integrate with those platforms. We are planning on allowing users to upvote other users' issues to make it easier for site owners to know which issues are higher priority. To support that, we'll need a publicly accessible link to the issue at morehumaninternet.org but that same issue can be kept in sync with a corresponding card/issue/ticket in some other system.

Thanks for the feedback ocdtrekkie, I agree that this should be clearer. We'll work to provide a clearer picture of what the platform would do. In general, we're building a public issue tracker for the internet.

Quoting the study "Geographic choices were important: first-generation immigrants were more likely to settle in areas with higher mobility prospects for their children. When we compare children growing up in the same US region, the intergenerational gap between immigrants and the US-born is reduced by 70%. When comparing children growing up in the same county, we no longer find an intergenerational gap between the children of immigrants and US-born individuals. In other words, immigrant children did not earn more than others who grew up in the same location. Rather, their parents chose to live in locations that offered high mobility prospects to all."

How can I, a proficient web developer but one with little experience working directly with its underlying infrastructure, help in whatever effort is being down to thwart this and related attacks? I feel a moral obligation to help as these attacks seem a grave threat to our economy and could cause unrest given the current political climate. Thanks.
