This is the dumbest post I’ve read. The attackers have a site seemingly hosted by/orange clouded by Cloudflare. They aren’t providing botnet or DDOS capabilities. Cloudflare tries to act as a third party that follows the law when the law gets involved. They don’t want to actively police the internet in the same way they don’t actively abolish piracy (see Anna’s Archive). There are exceptions to this of course, but on average I don’t find it necessary for Cloudflare to knock down the site of the attackers because they sell illegal services. Isn’t this what HN bitches about anyways, CF being a centralised authority? Now you’re bitching that it’s not using its centralisation powers?

I like Josh. His courses are expensive but compared to a college course they are wayyyyyyy higher quality. Did the CSS one and leveled up a few years ago (pre AI) and felt much smarter. He knows things that many courses fail to teach. He seems like a genuinely chill guy also.

Finding a mentor, getting him to meet professionals and showing him the way of white hat is probably good.

My parents didn’t understand my obsession for computers at a young age and I also went down a fairly black hat learning route.

I suggest you inform him via the likes of DEFCON, support groups, local hacker spaces. It’s easy to go down a wrong path in this field.

You think this like newcomers can’t use the LLM to more deeply understand these topics in addition to glue. This mindset is a fallacy as newcomers are more adept and passionate as any other generation. They have better tools and can compete just the same.
