Mostly on technologies that enables people talking. My first online friends, were from using IRC; I even made local friends, I would never without using the online way. Then I made friends using simple emails to far away people. Next I remember I did a lot of friends using SecondLife, were i found out about "mein sonnenshein", a virtual friend i virtually married 4 times and divorce four times also (it was very cheap like 10 cents to marry and 25 to divorce, lol) and a lot of other good friends; last one i got it in a MMORPG where i saw a "beautiful" elf warrior and started talking to her, and it results she spoke the same language and were in another continent. There is been a lot of time over, but i still make contact with some of them. I would dare to say that the virtual friends were as good as the real ones, because in the end we are all humans and connected with language, and resonate in many ways.

I had a ZX81. I remember copying hexadecimal lines of code from magazines using the tiny "keyboard". At least the hexadecimal code had checksums on every line, it made it a little easier to spot errors, but had to translate to Z80 machine code to be able to see any code at all! :)

If they payed for inference, doesn't they own the output? So if I pay for a model to generate code, isn't that code mine to do with it whatever I want? Just curious.

When i use local models with OpenCode, ClaudeCode or Pi, I just switch off internet just in case, and it works ok, no complains.

Another proud ZX-81 owner, my first computer bought as kit. It made me the TI pioneer in my little city. So cool times, everything was complex and simple at the same time. I had a flight simulator in only 1Kb ram :D

IMHO consciousness is just the ability to detect change. Everything can be calm and static, and then, suddenly, something changed. I think that is our capacity to notice that change that makes us conscious.

I think its the latter also. What i was saying is more that we want God AI like but work towards more Human AI like.

It strikes me as funny how we want to get super AI inteligence but keep trying to anthropomorphizing all AI aspects to make it more "human". IMHO, if we keep doing it we will create Human AI with all errors and deficiencies humans have.

The way they are treating their "international partners" would make this kind of cooperation very dificult on the future, and given that any dismantled site will give origin to new ones to fill the void, seems to me that it does more harm than good. A known evil is easier to dodge than an unknown one.

Actually is not a guitar problem, but all 12-TET tuned instruments have this, it is just a side effect of harmonic math. In the guitar case it is not only the tuning that counts, also the material the string are made and the diameter of the strings count to the final frequency, and we are using parallel frets so applying the same distance to different strings. There are guitars with not parallel frets that try to compensate for the diameter variation. But that’s all math and understanding, cause when you tune your guitar and just play you are in another world were "thought is the killer of flow"; so just play and enjoy the sound. :D
