There are a few options for installing and using a Hadoop cluster without a license fee.

Here comes a new challanger, "Poleposition", an open source Hadoop platform installer using Apache Bigtop project and repos.

You can use several components from Apache Bigtop repository.

Installer can be run on Windows and Linux.
