Google’s security key can already support 250 resident keys. I’m not sure how secure it is compared to Yubikeys, but it can’t be that far behind.

Thank you EU for regulating roaming! I remember being afraid to turn on data because the law was so new. At the end of the month the bill came and I was relieved to see 0€ extra for 7GB of traffic.

No, travelling by rail is sustainable. It’s a really good option for continental travel under 1000km.

Yubikeys only allow for 25 resident keys. Clearly not ready for passkeys, but they can work as a second factor.

My setup for the next few years will be: Bitwarden to store passkeys, passwords and sensitive data and a Yubikey that I login to Bitwarden with.

However, this becomes less significant when the applications are interoperable. If you ever stop using Obsidian, you can just grab your files and use another Markdown editor on top.

Can you explain to a university student in Western Europe how to exist without WhatsApp and Instagram?

For example, parties are organized in Whatsapp group chats and the local library’s events are posted to Instagram.
