None of the alternatives you cited are as complicated as GitHub. Also, GitHub started with this Actions bullshit which is just reinventing the CI wheel and overcomplicating stuff that was already made simple. The one thing I hate Forgejo about is for being compatible with Actions and promoting is as the way to go for CI, when you have much better alternatives like Woodpecker, where you can actually understand the underlying code for your CI/CD pipelines.

It's not stupid to share your emotions towards a platform you've grown passionate of, especially when since Microsoft's acquisition, the platform has become enshittified, and now, vibe coded to an extent that there is not a single week where there are no issues with the platform.

Something something Mozilla CEO who wants Firefox to become an AI product praising an AI model seems fishy. And it's even worse when he acknowledges those 271 vulnerabilities could've been found without the model. Oh well.

The whole announcement is full of FUD and fearmongering. They say they can't talk about 99% of the findings, they claim one of their experiments went "public" and posted to some very obscure websites no one has heard of, but didn't disclose which websites were these...

They are saying "trust me, bro, I have a superhacker model" and proceed to show 0 evidence that it is what they are hyping.

They could literally take their resources and spend time to improve LibreOffice and push for open data formats, supporting the TDF, but no, they listed a bunch of controversies on the software they chose and then decided to choose it anyways?

Sometimes I think the EU is ran by idiots, other times I am certain they are a bunch of idiots.

Very detailed and props to the security researchers, but the blog post has several indicators that it was written by AI, to which point I suspect their malware analysis was also done by a LLM.

I just wish it had more human interaction rather than have a GenAI spit out the blog post. It's very repetitive and includes several EM dashes.

Now we only need Sylve Community Scripts! Although creating a new jail (I guess FreeBSD alternative for LXC containers?) doesn't seem difficult.

Er, Hungary had implemented this back in 2022/23 when the Ukraine war started. The title makes it look like it's the very first country to restrict how much fuel you can buy in one go.

Mandatory age check is not going to reduce the number of criminals online. Period.

We should focus on teaching parents how to educate their children properly, and teach children how to safely browse the internet and how to avoid common scams and pitfalls.

I played Roblox when I was a teenager and all the time my aunt told me to be careful of who I talked to online, as they could be a pedo. Even though there wasn't a constant monitoring from my parents or family, her words were repeated many times that I actually thought 5 times before sharing any kind of personal information online, back then.
