At college, one professor gave us a list of books we needed for class. All expensive, of course. Used copies were non-existent. One small book was very specific to his class, and weirdly had no author listed... unless you read the receipt. The author was the professor who recommended it. Self published too, and carried at the college bookstore. Total scam.

It’s a scam. Economies are built on such things. Wealth being manipulated from the many to the few. Do it on such a large scale that it becomes something that world governments need to prop up.
This scam had a very clear tell right from the start: it’s not artificial intelligence.

My own company hired a young goon of a man to spearhead their AI initiative. Lots of smiles and arrogance from him. Fast forward 2 months and reality has hit. Weekly meetings asking for feedback draw blank stares as employees explain that Claude can’t do shit to help their workload. This kid is starting to sweat. I bet he’ll be gone by the summer. Hilarious.

Americans aren’t in favor of being driven into unemployment and poverty? How dare they!
Companies have their relationship with people, specifically employees, backwards. What percentage of companies out there are truly needed? What percentage solely exist because people have some surplus money to play with?
No one needs Microsoft or Google products. No one needs overpriced Apple crap. AI means jack shit to almost 100% of Americans. Streaming services are one bad day away from ruin. We’ve seen what piracy can do. Now we have faster, better internet. Food delivery services RIP. I buy so little from Amazon these days that I’m questioning the $15 per month value of Prime.
I hope we see society correct course and go back to how it was in the 90’s, before everything went to shit. No social media. No smart phones. Going out more. Less digital noise. Physical media from physical stores. The list goes on…

Do people still doubt the dead internet theory? Almost no one I know uses social media anymore. We, collectively, seem to have disengaged from this weird society that has popped up in the past 20 years. I don’t follow the news. I don’t know what movies are coming out or if my favorite bands have new music in the works. My phone is largely useless, aside from streaming music in my car, maps, the camera, and messaging.
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that most of the internet traffic today is just bots talking to one another. Humans have logged off.

‘The hackers responsible have exploited automatic tank gauge (ATG) systems that were sitting online and unprotected by passwords’
‘Cybersecurity researchers have been warning about internet-facing ATGs for over a decade. In 2015, security firm Trend Micro put mock ATG systems online to see what kind of hackers would target them. A pro-Iran group was quick to surface.’
‘A 2021 report from Sky News cited internal documents from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that singled out ATGs as a potential target for a disruptive cyberattack on gas stations.’
So these are deliberately being left open to attack then. Americans love nothing more than seeing news footage of lines of cars trying to refuel, and the government would use it as a reason to invade Iran.
