In the past, misguided research on the internet would often yield the exact opposite. The most innocuous set of symptoms? Oh you have a super rare disease that is found in SE Asia (you lived mostly in suburban America. No travel). Or, you have cancer or lupus.

To parent commenter, "beautiful design" just means "AI powered browser".

A quick glance at their product and its literally just a clone/fork of chrome/chromium with AI-pilled features.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" holds true.

I highly suspect this product will be tombstoned at around the same time as the VR goggles.

It’s really out of touch. I don’t see any benefit over any old tablet.

It’s an iPad mini with an always listening microphone.

Apple really wants their own "own the glass" moment.

On the product itself, why?

Apple Home.app has an awful UX. Have any more than 10+ IoT devices and it’s a shit show. This will not improve the walled in system created by Apple. Even if I was Apple-pilled or Apple-maxxing, why wouldn’t I just buy a last gen iPad mini and use that to control home. Has all the features of "HomeView" plus acts as a regular device that can browse web, video chat, and games.

Plus any home automation enthusiast will use home assistant and integrate it with their existing thread border router and Zigbee/Matter/Thread enabled device. Who are they trying to target?

Apple trying so hard to make Siri relevant. I don’t think it’s worth a $299 premium (up $170 from previous gen).

I would skip this generation of Apple TV and buy previous generation on a third party marketplace when people inevitably offload the current generation.

If there’s one good thing about the LLM hype. It’s that we are strongly reconsidering the value of "copyright" and "patent" law.

It’s an archaic law framework designed by corporations to guarantee a monopoly to extract as much value from "their idea."

The crash of AI hype will be absolutely beautiful. Sure my 401K will probably tank, but this is honestly not the first time. Have plenty of assets not tied to stock market plus plenty of cash.

Although, I suppose that saying, "the market can remain irrational longer than you can be solvent", is more true than ever.

It was a system that was created to serve a temporary need. However like any temporary system, it becomes permanent. Then companies or employers abuse it to the max, use it keep wages arbitrarily low. They use their influence to convince people from LCOL areas to uproot their lives for promises of higher wages/better living.

First time hearing LLM hype will "create" jobs. I have only heard stories of executives foaming at the mouth of getting rid of jobs/assets and replace with 24/7 available AI/LLM.
