Ask HN: Any good resources for basic cryptography?

currently i work on place where i am dealing with Hardware Security Module (HSM), certificates, openSSL, JCE, algorithm like DES, 3DES, AES, RSA, HMAC, etc...

i want to learn more detail about all of them, so i know how it works.

is it worth to buy google pixel just for installing grapheneos? in my country, it is kinda pricey and of course it cannot install bank apps because almost all of them are must non root phone.

my team are familiar with python, but i am not, so i decided to take an opportunity to learn this language, although, i prefer to use go because it's lightweight and simple.

at home i built my application using go. i also want to learn rust and elixir, but honestly i am not sure why i should learn both of them. i think language programming are just tools but they have their own advantages. also, learning other languages helps me become a better engineer.

Say, i want to build tcp client for check connection and can deploy anywhere without install any dependency, so i think golang would be a great choice. Maybe because your team are more comfortable with Python or dealing with AI/ML stuff, Java if you're dealing with Android apps, or because you are working on bank company, Rust for efficiency or some web server, Elixir i heard it's good for building messaging apps, C# for games, and even visual basic if you're dealing with legacy stuff.

not really sure about permission things, but basically it just dump all your data inside the server and many applications are accessing it. i think it's really depends on your application

i bought dell wyse 5070 for building talos cluster using proxmox. pretty great and you can upgrade ram to 32gb

i bought dell wyse 5070 with 30gb ram and 2 tb ssd to replace my raspberry pi 4. currently building some talos cluster and other linux distro. im not sure if this setup is a good idea, but so far i learned a lot how to host baremetal server

building blog using go with postgres and minio and self hosting on secondhand. raspberry pi on kubernetes.

building a prometheus exporter to monitoring like temperature, cpu, ram and building simple html monitoring tool to expose those metrics.
