From what I understand, DDG uses bing as a primary source, but they also pull data from numerous other sources, including their own crawler.

In December they acquired the name duck.com, maybe they'll do something with that. Right now it just redirects to duckduckgo.com

Possibly because that would explain its rotation being the reverse of the other planets(except Venus). If it started rotating the same way as the other planets and were rotated 82 degrees, it would still be rotating in the same direction as the other planets, where as by rotating 98 degrees, the rotation is reversed.

If you happen to live in a city. If you live outside a big metro area, at least in the US, a car absolutely is a necessity.

Where I live, there are no buses, no cabs, no uber, nothing. I don't have children or need to haul large loads frequently, so I might be able to make it work, but it would be a HUGE quality of life hit, necessitating taking a different job nearer me which almost certainly wouldn't pay as well as what I make now, moving closer to work - if I can find anything that's nearby and reasonably priced - and/or spending large amounts of time walking/biking. If I did have children or other dependents, there's just no real way I could expect to not have a car.

And Cannabis is regulated by the DEA and the FDA, being regulated by a federal agency hasn't stopped them from doing their own thing in the past, why should this be any different?

Ceres considered a dwarf planed because it hasn't cleared the neighborhood around it's orbit, not because of it's size.

I don't think the suggestion is that this object is planet IX, it's that this object provides evidence that there may be some other planet IX out there.

I use a kbp v60 (see manual[1], switches 1,3,6 on), caps lock is remapped to an fn key, then there are arrow keys both on the left and right hand. I haven't had any trouble getting used to it, and its wonderful not having to move my hand half way across the desk to reach the mouse.

So, I'm not a lawyer, but the 10th Circuit ruling doesn't read like this is over to me, it reads like this may be a temporary reprieve for Zen magnets.

The court found no issue with the decisions of the CPSC, but with one of the commissioners having made a decision prior to the decision making process. So yes, Zen can sell their magnets, but the CPSC should reconduct its review - and I don't see anywhere that suggests that given the same data they have today, they can't or won't make the same decision.

IANAL, but I'm not sure that's exactly true. As far as I know, in 49 states (not Louisiana), if there's not a law about it we fall back on some system based on english common law.

I made a new account about a week or so ago. Their new user form looks very much like you need an email to create an account, but you can just press continue without adding one, despite there being no indication of that. If I hadn't already known I didn't need an email, I would have either given them one or left the site and not returned, depending on how I felt giving them my email address.

I honestly haven't been following this very closely, but a lot of this feels like the kind of thing you'd see straight out of House of Cards, both what the contents themselves talk about and the decisions to release them. I wasn't able to find exactly what you're talking about, 100 page memo and all, but here's what I could find:

1) a 4-page memo[1] with a note from the white house on why they're releaseing this.

2) some text messages[2]

Some of it seems pretty damning, but I haven't personally done enough research to make a really informed opinion. I just wanted to put these links here to save anyone looking some trouble digging around for a starting point.

Not sure where this title came from. The article linked is "The British Once Built a 1,100-Mile Hedge Through the Middle of India". It's about 19th century Britain trying to enforce their taxes through the use of a living wall.
