We've already established that they are perfectly capable of ignoring people.
The only people they listen to or care about are domestic nazis. Those nasty regimes should just register accounts on KiwiFarms and then CloudFlare will bend over forwards to help them.

They are both caching, which is hosting. We'll leave out that DDoS protection is a PII nightmare, and that CloudFlare is essentially spyware. For now.
Their reasoning is the best that they could come up with under pressure. Which is to say - lol.

Every number is a number, including zero. Therefore some number of members of any given group have been discriminated against. Therefore any group is indeed discriminated against. You can't argue with objective mathematical proof.
Slightly more seriously, if someone is discriminated against for being part of a group, you don't get to appeal to the fallacy of composition applied to all groups in order to claim that there is no discrimination against that individual. Yes, yes, you're not actually writing out that argument, you're just leaving its ingredients lying around next to a naked flame.
Entirely seriously, here is your proof:
https://www.r-bloggers.com/2019/12/modeling-salary-and-gende...
Now switch to some other attempt at distraction via reducio of the actual argument.

It's a Dunning-Krugerish non-solution, sold as an init system trojan that is replacing more and more of the OS with less and less understanding of how it would need to work in order to do so effectively. It's a monolith that is almost pure attack surface, which requires the rest of the OS to change to work with it, thereby making it part of that monolith and extending the attack surface.
Every admin issue I've had over the last decade save two has been due to SystemD. I'm not opposed to change, but I'm also not going to embrace change for its own sake, particularly incompetently designed and implemented change.
Then we get to the project's social problems. But people get very defensive about that, so I'll just point out that if change is such an unalloyed good we certainly can't argue against changing away from using SystemD, can we?

Yes, yes, people are such snowflakes now, who would have been offended by for example being called a communist or gay in America in the 1950s?
There is absolutely a dynamic of status anxiety to some of this, but to claim that this is all that is happening amounts to asking some people to be bad bayesians.
So yes I don't want tribal society. But you can't privatise the public problem of people who are organizing to actually physically harm you, where they are, as a personal moral failing of being insufficiently stoic.
Political action rather than spiritual retreat is needed.

Graeber didn't defend the Apple statement, he said it was an editing error and that it was revised for later editions.
Obsessing over that wasn't a good look for DeLong. It isn't for his alts, his stans, or whatever you are.
That Crooked Timbre post is not very good. It reflects much worse on the author than on its purported subject.

> I think the biggest actual mistake DeLong managed to detect in the 544-odd pages of Debt, despite years of obsessively flailing away, was (iirc) that I got the number of Presidential appointees on the Federal Open Market Committee board wrong. I thought it was one, actually it's three. Yup. Guilty as charged.
Yes it's an illuminating read. :-)
