I’ve been experimenting with agent frameworks like OpenClaw recently and wondered how useful that model could be for ecommerce workflows.
A lot of Shopify tasks are repetitive: generating product descriptions, monitoring inventory, sending reports, tagging products, etc. In theory, agent-style systems could automate a lot of that.
The problem I ran into is that most agent frameworks are developer tools, and wiring them directly to a live store API feels risky. You don’t really want an unconstrained agent making arbitrary API calls.
So I built Clawly, which is basically an AI assistant system designed specifically for Shopify stores.
Instead of giving an agent full access, each assistant has scoped permissions and can only use the tools you allow (similar to Shopify API scopes). For example:
- an assistant that only generates product descriptions
- one that monitors orders and sends alerts
- one that produces daily sales summaries
Agents can also connect to external tools like Klaviyo, Notion, email, Google services, etc, so they can run automations across systems.
It’s still early but it’s been useful for automating small store workflows.
Curious what people here think about agent-style systems applied to ecommerce operations.

Hi HN!
I built OpenMolt, an open-source framework for creating programmatic AI agents in Node.js.
Instead of wiring complex workflows (that can break), you define agents in code with instructions, tools, integrations, and memory. The agent then plans steps and executes actions like calling APIs, updating data, or interacting with services. When things break or change, the agent can adapt instead of failing like static workflows.
The goal is to make agents behave more like real software systems than prompt scripts.
It includes:
- a planning/execution loop
- tool and API integrations
- memory support
- scheduling
- a CLI runner
One thing you're probably worried about: Security
With OpenMolt, agents are capability-scoped: they can only access the tools, integrations, and permissions explicitly granted to them, which helps keep automation predictable and secure. Also, the LLM only sees tool names, never raw credentials.
Would love feedback on the architecture and developer experience.

Hey HN,
This year, I will once again launch 10+ products and this is project #1.
Webflow-Exporter is a tool to easily export any Webflow website for free. The export is a ZIP file that contains all the CSS, Javascript, Media files and HTML pages of the website.
You can then upload and host the website on your own servers if you want.
It has various neat features like the ability to remove the Webflow badge, download the whole website vs a single page, adding an empty script.js/style.css files to add custom code and much more.
Funnily, Webflow-Exporter was built in Webflow and exporter using Webflow-Exporter .
I hope you'll enjoy using it. If you want to follow my Build In Public journey, feel free to follow me on X @ybouane
Disclaimer: This tool is not created by or affiliated with Webflow, Inc. It is your responsibility to use it in compliance with Webflow's terms of service.

Hey HN!
I'm excited to share a project that's been a labor of love over the past few years. As someone who’s launched 10 products in the last year alone, I know the struggle of getting your startup the attention it deserves. It's like having a treasure, but not knowing where to show it off!
So, I took matters into my own hands and created a curated guide to help fellow entrepreneurs and makers. It’s a comprehensive list of sites, directories, and marketing strategies that I’ve found incredibly effective for showcasing and promoting startups.
Why did I make this? Well, I realized that while we have incredible products, sometimes we just don't know the right places or strategies to get them in front of the right eyes. I wanted to create a go-to resource that not only lists the platforms but also provides practical tips on how to best leverage them.
It’s all about boosting your traffic, increasing your visibility, and making sure your startup shines like it should!
I’d love for you to check it out and share your thoughts. Have you used any of these platforms before? Do you have any secret weapons of your own? Let’s chat and share our experiences!
Cheers to making our startup journeys a bit smoother and more successful!

Hey HN,
I'm Yassine, and I'm excited to introduce Re:GPT - a Chrome Extension that integrates OpenAI's ChatGPT with Gmail and Outlook.
It allows you to save precious time by writing eloquent emails easily.
It uses the email thread as context and any message you already started writing to generate beautiful emails.
Let's say someone wants to set up a meeting with you.
Just write:
"october 23rd 5pm"
And the Re:GPT will rephrase it into a complete message:
"Hello,
Thank you for your email. We would be glad to meet with you. We have a slot available for a meeting on October 23rd at 5pm. Please confirm if this time works for you.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards"
You can personalize the writing style to best fit your needs:
- Customized Tone: Cheeky, Casual or Formal
- Message Length Control
- Voice Selection: Choose between "I" and "We" to match your preferred voice.
For inquiries or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out and join the conversation at X.com/ybouane.

Hey HN,
Today I'm launching StartupRoasters.com a community of people that give Brutally Honest Feedback to anything from a business idea, a Youtube video, a website...
In today's internet, I feel like getting feedback to one's projects is tough because most online communities slaughter anyone who posts their own work stating that it's self-promotion and spam.
That's why I built StartupRoasters.com where anyone can post their work and get feedback. You can even add a survey to your post so that people answer specific questions and make votes.
The obvious issue is that everyone is just going to post their work and not care about the others. The solution I found was to implement a points system. You need 100 points to create a new post about your project and to get points, you need to review projects from others, get upvotes, comment...
Thereby, everyone needs to contribute to get feedback on their own work.
I hope this community will grow and be helpful to people in improving their work.
Cheers,
Yassine (@ybouane)
