Very well articulated for sure. But, I do think the word _'expert'_ always tends to do a lot of heavy lifting.

What looks like _'expertise'_ may actually be pattern recognition built through repeated practice. I do believe that is what a model can already do faster than humans.

So, to me, we've got to be cautious here in that what this post implies is humanity must strive to be in the 99.99th percentile of domain knowledge to 'beat' the model. This is perhaps problematic.

I do think focusing on judgement is the only tact discourse here, and I do think that is fine. Once we have invariance well-defined and covered in suites of various types of testing strategies, and are focused on regulation, wouldn't that be a more doable objective?

If the systems invariants are well defined, and a suite of conformance + requirements tests (ensuring invariance is respected) are defined, wouldn't this be a broad - _'base case'_ - approach in general?

This is a lovely toy project. But please do not do this for real; imperfections - even minute imperfections - in data visualisations have consequences. 'Non-techy' people take for granted shapes and lines over numbers and sequences simply because computers are accurate. Correctness of data is a separate matter of course

That's an oppinion for sure, and a very shallow, general oppinion. Some people like solving problems, sometimes via code, while others tend to hide behind the 'Collaboration' banner, to help their own career progression. Both are legitimate tracks. To dismiss one, is to make the other appear 'non-Good'. But, perhaps data can be furnished as part of this post to support either as 'better'.

Ideally, searching once for 'midjourney' would mean getting the url to directly access it time and again (and, create a bookmark). Perhaps the issue is more on the business model, rather than the effectivness of search offered by Google.

What is search anyway (not being flippant!)? Its quite an odd 'thing' really these days.

I've come to the same conclusion myself in the past 2 months (possibly driven by the AI / LLM age making me think even more in version control... writing those words make me wince). I have a small webapp too, which hoovers up issues I like to publish, from a repo with links on the web I like that I feel I would like to share (I believe the kids are calling this 'new age curation'). Its really quite a nice, organic, process. And its so odd its taken me 15 years of note apps - every other hot note app on the market - to realise this. Love Simon's articles, another nice insight

That tutorial guy on YouTube, Derek Banas, swears by Anki. He's quite the voracious learner as well as being a pretty good contractor. I've used it myself (sparingly, when taking on new projects with new technology stacks), and never really committed to it because of the somewhat static and predictable nature of the learning session (as described in the article; the algorithm). However, from learning about the upgrade (well, 2023 upgrade), I will try it out again: high hopes.
