I've been paying for the all products pack for 8 years now, but at my latest job all code is generated, and I think this will be the reality at most companies. I won't extend this year

Does the one pedal drive activate the brake lights, or why does it feel that a lot of evs don't show the brake lights when 'braking', which is really annoying when you drive behind them.

Yup, Nike and Asics were like 10mm, while Hoka and other cool brands are lower. Back when I was running this was the main differentiator

No mention of heel drop? I thought Hoka's were in the low heel drop category. Or maybe it's not a thing anymore

New comment by yolo3000 in "AI didn't erase the junior engineer's value, it increased it it"

yolo3000 — Thu, 20 Aug 2026 12:34:33 +0000

This is the direction many engineers (seniors included) are facing if they mostly rely on AI. You lose your skills, you become detached. We will all become 'architects'.

Same in the Netherlands, but it's not enforced. Although, it could be so easily enforced, at least for dutch numbers.

Numbers are going down, but in my area there are now 4 buildings with asylum seekers. Started with a hotel, then an office building, then some newly built expensive houses that were first up for rent and now rented for asylum seekers, and now another office building. Honoring existing treaties out of principle can also be put on hold when the situation changes.

I interviewed someone once for a fullstack role, gave him a mockup of a screen we had to build and asked how he would do it, in short some things on top of other things. The only thing he managed to say was how he would divide everything into components. I thought man, so many devs don't even know how to use html/css anymore, but who's laughing now, you just need to prompt a coding agent.

So you think most engineers are not capable to work in a group, without supervision? Who's insulting? "If you don't know what you're doing" = "You're out of depth and you need someone to guide you through"
