Show HN: Dig This – Random music recommendations using the Discogs API

After watching a video about a dj searching for music on Discogs [1] I was inspired to hack together a small app that assists the discovery process while adding an element of randomness.

The app serves up a random selection of five "styles" that a user can cycle through. Clicking a style generates a random music recommendation that falls under that category.

Art school grad here - Though I'm not a professional software developer myself, I have a couple artist/SWE friends who are involved in the Algorave community along with a lot of other creative coders. While not a strictly visual medium it could be a nice jumping off point to look into!

Nice work. There are a lot of benefits to daily mood tracking like this and I think you have an opportunity to go further in how you allow a user to track their feelings beyond 'good' or 'bad.' At some stores you don't even need your prescription. I recently purchased my best (and cheapest) pair while visiting Japan and an eye exam was part of the transaction - at no extra cost! As an American I was shocked at how seamless and quick I was able to walk out with a new pair of glasses
