Feel like this is an answer to the Lamborghini Urus which, at the time, I remember the internet not being fond of either. But in the real world, they are now a massive status symbol

I as a Gen-Zer mourn the "old internet" of the 2010s. I agree and feel like nostalgia is kind of a lie.
In my own generation for example, I've seen a transition from "no good music has come out since 2000, we missed the GB/N64 era of gaming" to deep nostalgia for PS3/Xbox and Linkin Park era metal as the golden era.

It is boring, that is the appeal for most of its proponents I think. Obviously that doesn't appeal to the nerdier side of programming, but if your goal is to "write programs" as opposed to "do programming for programmings sake", it gets out of your way most of the time to enable that in my experience.

While impressive technically I am very curious how well these kinds of hyper-realistic games will work in terms of gameplay compared to their more arcadey counterparts, I'm not convinced people will prefer them to regular shooters after the shock of the graphics wears off. I think this kind of thing could be crazy for VR though where more natural movement is preferred.

> I know that the story isn't new: college grades move to large cities for jobs and exciting opportunities, but these friends are young! Plus, we are witnessing our siblings who are about to leave college balk at the idea of paying rent in large cities (NYC, SF, Chicago, Austin, et al) and are looking more fondly at smaller, more affordable cities.
I've had much a similar experience, moving to a smaller town after university. Since my role allows me to work mostly remotely there's no reason to bother paying crazy rent in the city rather than occasionally commuting as necessary. There is a decent cohort of other people here in the same boat so I'm not just surrounded by older folk and its nice being closer to nature if I ever want to get out of town for a while.

> Personally I think Twitter would work best if it was left to be just that. I don't think anyone really cares about what I have to say, for example
This hasn't been my experience of twitter at all, I follow far more unverified people than I do verified and I know I'm not the only one that does. Communities like football (soccer) twitter aren't built on a few large verified accounts but, as far as I can tell, by mass participation more akin to reddit.
