Their manifesto did not say that they'll regulate social media and try to limit internet freedoms. They were not elected for that. Can any future election be truly democratic if those in power get to issue content takedowns?

The contacts have been shared since 2016. You can get your account info in the Account option, but they make it a pain to get it. Mine took 3 days for an HTML page.

They are. I for one hate the style. Fitzgerald seems tone deaf about the number of multi syllabic words he uses in a sentence, as a result the rhythm becomes monotonous. I think people who are more visual in their reading like him.

I didn't like it. I don't get what is so good about its style. The prose is too purple and it meanders a lot. Even for its time the style feels choppy.

The problem is that the process is opaque so you aren't even given a hint as to why the site is blacklisted. Security filters, fine, but at least tell the developers what the violation is so that it can be fixed. It's the same in the play store controversies, the developers aren't told what's wrong, the app is just taken down. This lack of transparency is the real issue.

This. Why is there an implicit agreement that okay Google is the gatekeeper. It shouldn't be. The internet did not appoint Google as the gatekeeper.

The drop shipping part I recall was part of 5 options he outlines and discusses the pros and cons and roi of. And the discover a brand new market and develop a product was another. The core really was just streamlining your inbound and focusing on creating a great product overpriced for luxury markets so you have customers that pay well enough and can be managed by one person.

It's really no secret that Tim himself worked 100 hour weeks for an year before he could streamline his company, he says so himself.

The best idea I took was that of not banking on retirement and constantly upskilling. And the hypothetical questions like if you had 6 months to complete your 5 year plan what would you do. Makes a man think creatively.

The book isn't for people who aspire to something greater than passive income and free time. In this case I'd say you're not the target audience.

I think you miss the point of the four hour work week. The spirit of the book is delegation of things you don't want to do. Tim writes in the book that before an 80/20 analysis you will have to try a lot of things and see what sticks. Considering the fact that Tim writes about proactively researching the market and creating new categories if possible and to test various marketing tools and product ideas it's not the four hour work week mindset that's the problem. It's the people who just read the title and not the book that are hurting its big ideas.

In the long term Apple would indeed want to do that. The company policy for the past few years has been geared towards making a closed ecosystem. They would want to replace all Google services to make an iPhone to Android transition as hard as possible.
