Why do you need "leverage" in the Middle East? Haven't they suffered enough since ~WWI colonization (including Africa and India and the surrounding regions)?

I haven't seen any serious circles and discussions that use israel as a scapegoat for every issue that arises, but it is also naive to deny what we see in front of our eyes and hear with our ears first hand from their own ministers; it's more clear now than ever.

It depends on the GC settings. With the other JEPS I listed, things should become more aggressive. But today you can have:

    used=7640 MB, committed=7668 MB, max=8192 MB
    used=4 MB, committed=20 MB, max=8192 MB
    used=3 MB, committed=8 MB, max=8192 MB

The RSS drops from ~8GB to 8 MB.

I put the title because it shows he is an expert in his domain. Not to mention knows several language including Biblical Hebrew.

The point is to convey how Dawkins and his ilk (e.g. deGrasse Tyson) have so many basic fallacies that they do not seem to be aware of the moment they step outside their domains, and try to apply their relatively narrow world view across domains that do not support them. The video talks about a very fundamental logical fallacy.

The topic of the existence of God is not the discussion here.

When was the lat time you encountered such issue? The JVM has been more proactive in releasing memory back to the OS[1], and more work on dynamically setting the heap size (both up and down)

We have Java services running on 512MB k8s nodes.

Furthermore, collection time (for moving collectors) is a function of the liveset, not the # of dead objects.

I find that very debatable. Spring Boot, for instance, is just one config line away from automatically using virtual threads in its handlers:

    spring.threads.virtual.enabled=true

We also see library implementations switching to them.
