Perhaps. Homes are not zero sum though so it’s also possible there will be fewer first homes.

Wealth is not income. Most of the world has zero or negative wealth so these types of calculations are kind of silly.
A better comparison would be imagine 1.6% of the earth having 50% of the valuable minerals. But that’s roughly what it actually is!

How do I sign up for this magical 25% “effective tax rate”? Last year mine was 46% and that’s only counting income tax (state + federal).

Doesn’t it cost much more than BW? I don’t really understand if the main complaint is people worrying about losing the free option (which hasn’t even happened)

What did they pull exactly? Nothing has changed about the product except for a small price increase (but free version is still great)

The placement at the bottom of pricing is always where it was. Nothing has changed
They did raise the price to $20 (but the free version is still amazing). But that’s still really cheap and pretty much all services have gone up in price in the past 10 years (inflation)

They mentioned in an update that they accidentally removed “always free” text during a website update and put it back quickly. Seems the article was written in the intervening period

I really don’t think a UI redesign is the intended meaning of enshittification. BW has had by far the best free option for password management since I started using them 8 years ago.
Do I like the UI changes? Eh it’s not my favorite but I don’t use it that often to care.

Practically speaking it’s rarely cost efficient to vibe code your own all compared to buying. It might cost $100-200 in tokens alone and then there’s the time cost, maintenance, etc. Paying $10/month is cheaper.
I’ll only make an app if there’s nothing else comparable out there (surprisingly common)z

You can use all the normal hg commands at Meta. It’s a regular mercurial repo from the standpoint of a user

I’ve donated cars to them twice and I’ll be honest I don’t really care. It was convenient for me to not have to deal with selling it and I got a minor tax benefit.
I guess if I knew I might have picked a different charity though. But it’s not something I’d spend a lot of time worrying about.

The religious disclosure requirement feels like it may be a 1st amendment violation. Also perhaps even the rest of it as “compelled speech” (why does the judge decide how they fix their ads?) is it typical for charities to disclose exactly how they use their funds in ads? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.
I agree the ads shouldn’t be misleading of course.
Next you’ll tell me that UNICEF isn’t exclusively saving starving orphans in Africa.
