Just curious what kind of predictions you have for the upcoming years 2022, 2023, 2024.
I think the obvious one would be the EV wars. Also the delayed shipping dates for those vehicles. IE: If you order an EV truck now you wont get it until 2024.
Hopefully staying remote and rent not going up, but one can only hope...

I used to work in the oil industry (Alberta) when I was in undergrad. I was offered to quit school and get paid 90k.
Thanks god I rejected that offer and went to tech. Most of my friends were laughing that I was taking computing science. They were making 90-130k in the trades.
Then the recession hit and most of them are now unemployed or have taken a huge paycut.
I feel bad for them since they took out a mortgage and a 70k truck. I'm not angry at them for making fun of my career. I just wish people would respect people's career choice.

Most of us have to make multiple decisions in our day-to-day lives. Decisions that varies from a range of very important decisions to less important decisions. From what I can recall we have a limited energy pool to make and execute decisions. Decisions that fall under different categories of importance. I've recently had to set up my day wherein, I don't have to make many non-important decisions and have them instead set-up for me automatically. This way I'll have more energy in my decision-making energy pool. This energy can then be used to do more important stuff that I care about. I hope this helps.

It's interesting to imagine what Djikstra would've accomplished if he instead decided to focus on theoretical physics. Conversely, imagine what we would've lost if we didn't have Djikstra as a programmer.
I'd like to point out that Dijkstra's writing might arguably the best writing I've seen from a programmer. English is not my first language and his writing is inspiring; if possible I'd like to request if anyone can point me to a resource (apps, software, etc) so I can learn to write, speak, and converse like Dijkstra in this lecture?

You know what I've realized that's really important. More AWS tutorials is really needed. There's numerous of new programmers who want to learn AWS, but can't finish building anything because they get buried in documentation.
I find there are a lot of high-level abstracted tutorials, but for the new services, there aren't a lot of detailed tutorials.
For instance, an implemented cognito->gateway->lambda->dynamodb is really hard for a newbie to do.

There are so many things to know nowadays.
Backend: Sql, NoSql, NewSql, etc.
Middlware: Django, NodeJs, Spring, Groovy, RoR, Symfony, etc.
Client: Angular, Ember, React, Jquery, etc.
I haven't even mentioned hardware, security, servers/cloud, and api.
Now you also need to know about theory, UI/UX, git, deploying servers, HTTP, scrum, software development process, testing.
Then you have to keep up to date with all of the trends and know which framework to use in which scenario.
So, I wrote all of that in a minute. You can just imagine how frustrating it is to learn all of that and be expected not to look at any help or reference. You have to be crazy to have expectations that high in expecting programmers not to use stack overflow.
You burn soo much cognitive resource if you don't use stack overflow. Also, it helps you learn soo much faster. If I go to AWS there is so much jargon in that documentation, which could literally be explained in a simple sentence. Oh and guess what, that simple explanation is in Stack Overflow.
