I’ve had exactly the same idea! Living in LA I sometime imagine how the city will look like in hopefully ten years or less when robots pick up all the litter! Hopefully there will also be landscaping robots and sidewalk/road repair bots too.. those three pretty much are what you need to turn any rundown neighborhood into a sparkling oasis it seems. My other near term idea is just robotic city trash cans, that slowly crawl down the sidewalks on a loop and empty themselves into a big bin in the alley or whatever as part of that loop. I think people probably wouldn’t mess too much with the litter bots either, especially if they work a lot on the sides of freeways. Also people don’t seem to mess too much with the cocos out there delivering food three blocks..

I ran a message board for a little bit back in 1997 but I didn’t really moderate it and just left it alone. I came back months later and it had somehow become a strange two-topic forum. I assume because somebody had randomly posted about each, a search engine had indexed it and more people searching for each of those topics found it.

It was pretty funny seeing the threads where the two groups talked past each other, confused what the other was talking about.

The first topic was “AOL PUnterz” which as far as I could understand were programs/scripts that could maybe crash somebody else’s aol connection and disconnect them? A pretty leet thing to do I guess when you got in an aol argument.

The other topic was Hanson and their hit song mmmbop.

I made clodhost for an easy to use and share web interface to Claude Code, running on its own vps… and then I realized it’d make it easy to implement an idea I’ve had for a long time… basically Wikipedia but the website CODE is produced peer-to-peer.

Anybody on the web can submit a prompt, and up/downvote other prompts, and every ten minutes the top one gets submitted to Claude!

Anyway, I think it works? Let me know if not and let’s see where this thing goes…

I actually use dozens of claude codes "in parallel" myself (most are sitting idle for a lot of the time though). I set up a web interface and then made it usable by others at clodhost.com if anybody wants to try it (free)!

I think the right solution is charge whatever would maximize revenue, then distribute the revenues evenly among all residents/voters/whomever.

AI has more knowledge than everyone already, I wouldn't say smarter though. It's like wisdom vs intelligence in D+D (and/or life).. wisdom is knowing things, intelligence is how quick you can learn / create new things.
