Gates is weapons-grade awkward and just plain weird. 56K internet was slow to notice. But the poor schmuck had to hire Russians to boink him, and he got a VD from it per the Epsein files.

Haha.. No. I've rehired people I've fired, so I know that's not the case. Had one guy pop back a decade later and thank me for saving his life. I was fully aware he had a drinking problem and lived in a van. It didn't work out for long, but the job gave him enough stability to sort some things out.

I can't pinpoint it, but I'm increasingly aware that I only have limited time and I'm starting to think that sitting by a stream watching the birds is more important than working to make my company 2% bigger.

Fair enough.. It's not really sci-fi. Just a quiet slice of life with a twist.

If I may be so bold, this story would have sucked when I was younger, but now that I've been acquainted with the ages of all the characters, it makes sense.

And if you knew the manifests (quantity of oil) for the ship, just the value of the bitcount transaction could be used for tracking.

Post office gets grumpy if you post images that could allow for duplication:

18 U.S.C. § 501. If you post high-resolution, printable images of valid stamps, especially unused ones, and they can be reproduced, prosecutors could argue you’re facilitating counterfeiting.

My only problem with this is: Some of my best people are those that "I gave them a chance." I'd only hire perfect people from my tribe if I had to have them forever.
