Exactly my experience. I tried LFS several times, but I didn't learn much. I learned more with Arch Linux, but I truly appreciate the work that was put in LFS, marvelous for the right type of learner.

Qubes can be viewed as a Xen distribution, rather than a Linux distribution [1]. You may find the Qubes FAQ a good starting point (I'm reading it now because of your question, so thanks).

I don't really know as the argument is mainly about how stupid people are... The technical argument is one paragraph ended with an insult, not much to make an educated and civilized opinion.

Sure, arguments can be made in favor of being "above all these things," but profound moral disgust can also be a legitimate argument.

I was responding to the person casting doubts on whether he/she should buy a Framework laptop by providing my own experience as a very happy customer. I still think he/she should go for a Framework.

As for BIOS updates outside warranty, I think it's always been risky for all brands. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think "non-sequitor" applies here.

I had a very different experience with the Framework team. The battery died (within the warranty period), I reached out to them, they asked some questions, then sent me a brand new one.

Very satisfied with my Framework laptop and the customer support. I can't imagine buying another laptop.
