Duets Network | Founding Engineer | REMOTE (US) | Equity + discretionary cash | ~10–15 hrs/wk
Duets Network is an AI-powered platform connecting startups and investors across the sports and entertainment industries. We are building a dynamic ecosystem that bridges founders, capital, and strategic partners to drive meaningful growth and collaboration at the intersection of technology and culture.
The initial product is built out, and we're now looking for a fractional Founding Engineer to guide the technical side moving forward: architecture, infrastructure, data/recommendation systems, security, and scalability.
Our founding team: CEO, ex-Universal Music Group; CBO, ex-Andreessen Horowitz. You'd work directly with the founders, with no existing engineering org, and would:
- Assess and improve the existing React / Node.js / PostgreSQL / AWS codebase and infrastructure
- Set engineering architecture, standards, and technical priorities
- Design the data + recommendation/scoring layer behind founder/investor/partner matching
- Build out DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment processes
- Make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions and coordinate external engineers/vendors as needed
- Serve as the primary technical team member, with real influence over the technology foundation and future engineering org
We're particularly interested in someone who has owned architecture end-to-end. Ideally with experience in matching, recommendation, ranking, or scoring systems. You should be comfortable explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical founders and investors.
This is a fractional role (~10–15 hrs/wk), compensated with equity plus discretionary cash. It's a fit if you want the opportunity to be an early technical team member without a traditional full-time commitment. We're early-stage and moving fast, so you don't need to check every box, we're looking for someone curious, adaptable, and excited to build with us.
If interested, email team[at]duetsnetwork[dot]com with "Founding Engineer" in the subject line.

Mastra | Customer Engineer | REMOTE (AMER or EMEA time zones) | Full-time
Mastra is the open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents (agents, workflows, memory, evals, tracing). From the team behind Gatsby, YC-backed,https://github.com/mastra-ai/mastra
We're hiring a customer engineer. Some companies would call this an FDE; we don't, because roughly half the job is shipping in the framework itself. The other half you're embedded with paying customers deploying agents to production: in their Slack channels and on calls, writing code in their repos, reviewing their PRs, working through architecture with their engineers. What you learn there comes back as bug fixes, features, and new primitives in Mastra. One of our current customer engineers is among the top bug-fixers in the entire codebase.
You should be a full-stack TypeScript engineer who has built agents and who can explain technical decisions clearly to engineers who haven't seen your code.
Remote. We have a lot of EU customers and response-time SLAs, so US Eastern/Central or EU hours work best.
Process: a call with Shane (co-founder/CPO, leads customer engineering), a conversation with a customer engineer, a 2-3 hour take-home, then you present it to us and get feedback.
Apply: {https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/Mastra/05172cb0-47ec-44f9-9fe8-07d4...} We get back to everyone.

Tecuity | Senior Software Engineer I | Hyde Park, UT (ONSITE preferred; will consider candidates who can commute in 1-2x/month) | Full-time | $90k-$135k
Tecuity has spent 20+ years building software for Secretary of State offices — state government agencies handling business filings and public records. Real filing deadlines, statutory requirements, and citizens who depend on the system working.
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer I to own features end-to-end on a mature, multi-tenant .NET platform, typically supporting more than one client implementation at a time, each with its own database and release calendar.
Stack: C# / .NET 8 & .NET 10, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework Core, MS SQL Server (heavy stored-procedure work), React + Redux front end, Git/PR workflow, Azure DevOps CI/CD.
AI-assisted development (Claude Code) is a standard, daily part of our engineers' workflow here, not a pilot program — you'll be expected to use it well and verify its output rather than just accept it.
Looking for 6+ years professional experience in C#/.NET and SQL Server. Government, regulated, or compliance-driven software experience is a plus.
Ideally we're looking for candidates who can work onsite from our Hyde Park, UT office, but we're open to Utah or Idaho candidates who can commute in once or twice a month for the right fit.
Email hr@tecuity.com with a bit about your background and a resume or for more information.
Foray Bioscience | Software Engineer, Data & ML | On-Site (Cambridge, MA) | Full Time | $105,000–$130,000 + equity
Company:
Foray is a plant production company using plant cells, artificial intelligence, and advanced biomanufacturing to grow materials, molecules, and seeds directly from the cell up.
Our work is powered by Pando, our intelligent workspace for plant science. Pando combines novel plant datasets and emerging predictive models to help researchers design and optimize plant production workflows with greater speed and reliability. Together, our software and biomanufacturing platforms are creating new ways to produce what we need from plants while building more resilient plant industries.
Role:
We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Data & ML to help build the software and data foundation behind Pando. You’ll work across the product, with a particular focus on backend systems, APIs, data infrastructure, and the systems supporting our machine learning work. A major part of the role is figuring out how to turn complex scientific and experimental information — including scientific literature, natural language, and data generated in the lab — into reliable, structured data.
You’ll work closely with software engineers, biologists, and ML researchers to translate experimental workflows, statistical analyses, and design-of-experiment approaches into scalable software and predictive tools. You’ll join early, have significant ownership, and help make foundational technical and architectural decisions as the platform grows.
You:
+ Strong software engineering generalist with particular depth in backend and data systems
+ Experience shipping production-grade software and building backend systems, data pipelines, databases, APIs, or other data-intensive infrastructure
+ Strong in Python and comfortable with relational databases, APIs, and modern software systems
+ Familiar with MLOps and the infrastructure needed to run AI models in production
+ Comfortable turning messy, heterogeneous, or unstructured information into trustworthy data, including through NLP, information extraction, or similar techniques
+ Understand good scientific data practices including quality, provenance, versioning, reproducibility, permissions, and access controls
+ Enough statistical fluency to reason about experimental data, uncertainty, and design of experiments
+ Enjoy learning unfamiliar domains, working across disciplines, and solving ambiguous problems with significant ownership
+ Experience with scientific or biological data, ML infrastructure, predictive modeling, optimization, or AI applications is helpful, but we don’t expect one person to have done all of these things before
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States
Learn more & apply: https://jobs.polymer.co/foray-bioscience/41044?source=Hacker...
Referrals: Available in the form of a houseplant or a lab-grown Christmas tree, while supplies last!

Xaira Therapeutics | Midlevel/Senior/Staff Engineers | Seattle or SF
Xaira Therapeutics is developing biological foundation models (not LLMs) to hit undruggable targets and cure disease. We've put together an incredible cross-disciplinary team of pharma veterans who have brought drugs to market, drug designers/AI scientists from Nobel laureate David Baker's lab, and engineers from tech in order to meet the moment and build a company to reimagine how drugs are made in the pursuit of better medicines. We're not a SaaS company, and the ultimate goal is to see the medicines we make delivered to patients.
I lead the engineering team and am hiring across multiple teams. There's:
- Research Engineering: work on a modeling team with the goal of making a model better. You think in tensors, understand what makes a kernel fast, and obsess over training throughput.
- X-Scientist: building an agentic copilot for drug development with access to our internal suite of tools. You have backend experience, have built tools for agents to interact with, and enjoy tinkering with agent harnesses.
- Data Engineering: we generate large volumes of data from our lab that provide critical feedback loops to our modeling efforts. You either hate or love lakehouses, have a preferred ETL orchestrator, and are intrigued by the problem of capturing data off of lab instruments.
- ML Platform: boy do we have some GPUs for you. Modeling teams need productive compute infrastructure, job scheduling, and numerous other affordances so that they can "just focus" on the model. You shudder at the words "falling off the bus", you have an opinion on how checkpoints should be recorded, and you've built tools that improve the modeling lifecycle.
Send me an email to apply: justin.yan@xaira.com
Include a resume and tell me about something you've built that illustrates your skills.

Senzing (entity resolution SDK) | Platform Engineer | Remote (USA) | Full-time
Senzing builds enterprise entity-resolution SDK technology — an embeddable library that runs entirely inside customer infrastructure with zero data exfiltration. We're hiring a platform engineer to own the AWS infrastructure behind Placekey (our location-data subsidiary), a production API service running at scale.
Day one, this is a cloud/platform role: you'd own the operational health of Placekey's stack, close out post-migration hardening, and have real input on where the infrastructure goes next. Over time the role grows to include internal IT and systems work (Active Directory, endpoint/laptop provisioning, Tailscale, security) — so we're looking for someone who's happy owning things end to end, not only the glamorous layer.
Stack: EKS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, Lambda, Cloudflare, API gateway (Kong/AWS), Terraform, Grafana/CloudWatch/Datadog. Apps are Scala and Rust.
Looking for: 5+ years platform/cloud infra, production Kubernetes (EKS ideal), managed Postgres (backup/recovery/tuning), IaC, solid networking, strong Python/Bash. You don't need to be an expert on the IT/systems side today — but you should want to grow into it.
Remote anywhere in the USA. Competitive salary, full health/dental/vision, 401(k) match, flexible PTO.
To apply: email enghiring@senzing.com with your resume and a short note — tell us about a challenging production system you've owned end to end, including an incident where your monitoring missed something and what you changed afterward.

Cascade Space | Senior Mechanical Engineer | San Francisco, CA (ONSITE) | Full-time | $150k - $190k + equity
Cascade Space is building ground-based infrastructure to support missions to the moon and beyond. Instead of single large dishes, we're building arrays of dishes combined with a digital beamformer into one large aperture — comparable to a NASA Deep Space Network 34m dish. We raised our seed round last year and this is our first mechanical engineering hire.
You'll own mechanical integration of vendor dish systems with our in-house RF hardware (feeds, LNAs, amplifiers): packaging for ultra-low-noise electronics that has to survive outdoor conditions, alignment/tolerance strategy, and structural/environmental testing. When it's time to stand up our first array, you'll be on-site for deployment and commissioning. Full arc from CAD to field install.
Looking for 4+ years designing and deploying complex hardware systems, experience integrating electronics into outdoor/exposed environments, thermal management of sensitive electronics, precision mechanical assemblies, and owning vendor/fab-shop relationships. RF/antenna experience is a bonus, not required.
Note: US Persons only (ITAR/EAR — some customer datasets are restricted).
Apply: careers@cascade.space

Republic Services | Staff Engineer – Agentic AI | REMOTE (US) | Full-time | $175k is our salary midpoint + 20% target bonus
Republic Services is the second largest environmental services companies in North America — ~40K employees, thousands of trucks, hundreds of facilities, and a mountain of operational data that has never had an AI layer on top of it. We have a backlog of hundreds of Agentic AI ideas that we need to deliver and a foundation of ontologies, evaluations, guardrails, etc... that we need to build.
We're hiring a Staff Engineer now to be the first hire and plan to expand the team aggressively. You will own that platform end to end, not manage the people.
What you'll work on
- Agent orchestration: tool calling, planner/executor and multi-agent patterns, MCP/A2A integrations with enterprise systems
- Making enterprise context reliably available at inference time — retrieval, memory, hybrid search, reranking, access controls
- LLMOps that isn't hand-wavy: evals and golden datasets, prompt/agent versioning, tracing, token and cost budgets, CI/CD for agents
- Safety in a regulated enterprise: prompt injection, data exfiltration, PII handling, human-in-the-loop, audit logging
You should have
- 7–10+ years building and scaling production systems, with recent, hands-on GenAI/agentic work in production (not just demos)
- Shipped agents or LLM pipelines at scale
- Solid data chops — vector stores, chunking, hybrid search, knowing when retrieval is the wrong answer
- Cloud experience (we're primarily AWS / Bedrock); comfortable with both containers and serverless
- Track record of technical leadership and mentoring without needing a manager title
Nice to have: LangGraph / Semantic Kernel / PydanticAI, GraphRAG, knowledge graphs, LangFuse/LangSmith, multimodal.
Comp & benefits: $175k is our midpoint for salary + 20% annual target bonus, 401(k) with company match, ESPP, medical/dental/vision, PTO. Remote eligible, prefer AZ timezones +/-1. Not sponsorship eligible.
Why you should want to work here: We build cool stuff
email me (jgardner@republicservices.com) directly with the most interesting agent you've shipped.
