Pinehurst, TX | Remote, Onsite, Hybrid
Senior Systems Architect (Backend / AI-Native / Not a CRUD Role)
Overview
We are looking for a senior systems architect, not a feature developer.
This role is for someone who:
. has designed systems end-to-end
. understands how to structure complex backend systems
. can work alongside AI-assisted development (not against it)
If your primary strength is writing features or following tickets, this is not the role.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Evaluating existing systems and identifying what should be: kept, restructured, rebuilt
Designing system architecture across: data flow, service boundaries, processing layers
Structuring systems that involve: multiple data inputs (APIs, documents, etc.), document ingestion and parsing, asynchronous/background processing
Defining backend patterns for: reliability, scalability, maintainability
Working in an environment where AI tools (e.g. Claude, OpenAI Codex) are actively used for execution
This is a design-first role, not a ticket-driven role.
How to Apply (Required)
Please include:
. A brief description of a system you personally designed end-to-end
. The hardest architectural decision you made in that system
. A short explanation of how you currently use AI tools in your workflow
Applications without this information will not be considered.
Please email to Gpresearch2025@gmail.com
Due to the length of the comments, please visit this doc for full details:

Hey HN! I'm hiring aggressively to scale our team at Airspace Intelligence (https://www.airspace-intelligence.com)
Series B, onsite in Boston (all levels) and Seattle (Senior+).
We're building the software layer for airspace and critical infrastructure operations. Think real-time optimization across thousands of flights, grid assets, and logistics networks — the kind of problem where your state space is enormous, constraints shift constantly, and the humans in the loop are making life-safety decisions on tooling that hasn't meaningfully improved in decades.
We're hiring across Product, Infrastructure, and ML. If you're a performance minded front-end (web) engineer - I particularly would love to hear from you.
Here's one of our roles https://www.airspace-intelligence.com/careers/role?=6462d3d1... - there's a puzzle at the bottom that'll be trivial for this crowd, but it'll get you my email directly. If you go that route, drop "HackerNews" in the subject so I can prioritize you.
If building software for critical systems sounds interesting, I'd love to hear from you.

Quick heads-up! Please list the location (REMOTE / REMOTE US / ONSITE), post only if you’re hiring for your company, and keep it to one post per company. If your company isn’t well-known, add a short description. Commenters, stay on-topic, and readers, only reach out if you’re genuinely interested.

Post Up | Full time | Senior Backend Engineer | Onsite | Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) | Salary: $120-$130k CAD |
https://www.postup.pro
We're building the Databricks for content production, starting with post. Our orchestration engine coordinates pipelines end to end and turns post-production workflows into a persistent graph of assets and transformations, which are deterministic, verifiable, and nearly instant at scale, powered by a high-performance compute layer. We're building this AI-native from the ground up; ML inference is embedded throughout the pipeline, not bolted on.
Stack: On-prem, HPC clusters, distributed storage systems, GPU pipelines, real-time video compute.
We're looking for our founding senior backend engineer who wants to work on genuinely challenging infrastructure problems across distributed systems and media processing with immense scale. Should be familiar with Golang, Postgres, Distributed systems, Distributed filesystems (e.g. HDFS, Ceph, etc). If that sounds interesting, reach out directly to me at wilson@postup.pro.
Me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hayswilson/
How to apply: Email me directly at wilson@postup.pro or Submit here - https://www.notion.so/Founding-Senior-Backend-Engineer-31031...
